In my previous article, I suggested I’m the world’s worst book marketer. This was not exaggeration. That’s why I’m asking for your help. Would you please assist me in the launch of Tom’s List: 50 Commandments to Transform Your Life? I recognize without your help the book will slide into the black hole of obscurity.
Many of you have already helped and for that I’m grateful. But a few of you have watched me struggle and squirm in my book marketing efforts! Since the official book launch is tomorrow, July 12, now is the time for all good people to come to the aid of this struggling book marketer.
When I talk about the launch of a book I’m talking about helping the book to have a measure of success. In my research I’ve discovered the majority of books published today do not sell well and are largely unread. During this launch week if the book sold 500 copies that would be a spectacular success. It’s possible to achieve that goal but again I would need your help. I firmly believe Tom’s List is a book that can transform the life of every reader.
I’ve thought of 5 powerful ways in which you can help. Even if you only did one of them it would be a tremendous help in the launch of Tom’s List. Perhaps some of you will do more than one.
1. Buy the book.
There’s no question that the biggest way you can help make the book a success is to buy copy. I’m certain many readers have done that. But if you haven’t please consider going to Amazon.com and purchasing a copy. The price for paperback is $11.99 and the Kindle version is $6.99. HERE’S the link to the product page on Amazon.
2. Enter to win a free book.
On my website there is the opportunity to sign up to win a signed copy of the book. It would be terrific if you would go to THIS page and enter the contest. All you need to do to enter is give your name and email address. And who knows? You might be one of the five lucky winners.
3. If you’ve purchased a book please consider writing a book review for Amazon.
The more book reviews, the higher the likelihood the book will sell. Sales increase when a book has at least 25 positive reviews. Currently I have 15 reviews on Amazon. Would you please consider taking a few moments to leave your honest review? If you think the book is flawed, say so. And by the way, a book review is simply you sharing with the world your impressions of the book. It doesn’t need to be lengthy or technical. HERE’S the link to the product page. All you need to do is click it, scroll down, and look for where to leave your review.
4. Consider buying multiple copies for friends that you love.
This is a book which makes for an excellent gift. It is for everyone who wants to upgrade their life. It is for the young or the old as long as they are interested in positive transformation. It is a subtle way for you to help someone you love to have a better life. I have a friend who purchased 20 copies for his Sunday School class. Who do you love enough to invest $11.99 in?
5. Share this book to your social media.
In our world today social media is incredibly powerful. One of the great ways you can help with the book launch is to share the book on your social media. Let people know you have purchased the book. Here’s an idea: If you have a book take a picture holding it and upload it to social media. Or perhaps you could share the Amazon link to the book on Facebook and ask your friends to buy a copy.
Thanks for your encouragement during the writing and development of Tom’s List. I’m especially grateful to those who will go out of their way to somehow promote the book.
I’m not ashamed to say I need your help!
A marvellous novel marketing idea indeed.
Thanks Syed my friend. I hope you are well.
OK – I’ve done 3 out of these 5 so I guess I’m keeping up. Best wishes for a big launch! But if it isn’t as big as you want it to be, panic thee not. Many books have a so-so launch but then continue to grow sales for a long time afterward; others go big on launch but then die out quickly. So . . . whichever way launch day goes, you can’t lose, because it will all come out well in the end.
Thanks Kathleen for the encouragement. I really appreciate it.
Will you write us some “Click to Tweets?
You have a good Picture, Facebook post we can easily share publically.
I have tried to order your book but I DO NOT want Amazon PRIME and hate ordering anything on line. At this point I have given up…..is there another way for me to order? Can I go to a a book store and order there?
I’m happy to send you a copy. Send me an email and I’ll make sure you get a copy. You can also go to a real Barnes and Noble store and order one. It is in their system.
Tomorrow! As promised! Laaaauunch!
I haven’t forgotten the 12th! I already bought some copies for friends, but I keep thinking of more friends. I think I may remember more by tomorrow!
Thanks Terry!
